Four Stroke Performance Tuning - A.G. Bell

Forced Induction Performance Tuning - A.G. Bell

Both amazing books, that go deep into all components of a build, with dyno sheets/comparisons and so much more.

I would add the Ben Strader (EFI University) book Building & Tuning High-Performance Electronic Fuel Injection. There isn't that much about tuning the stock computer, but if you switch to Autotronic or FAST etc it could really help you out. There is also some good tuning theory in there.

For anyone that has read the books from Reher-Morrison, are they worth the extra cost?

One note..

I would consider

Internal combustion engine fundamentals by Heywood

and

Racecar vehicle dynamics by Milliken

to be "Advanced" books..

Carburetor Performance: How to Tune & Modify (Motorbooks Powertech Series)

http://www.amazon.com/Carburetor-Per...1719715&sr=1-1

it's down to $14 which is a steal. For a while it was at $70 or more or not available. I think I spent around $30 and was worth it. It's a very good if not the best carb book in my opinion.

I love these books, IMO they are definitely worth every penny. For anyone who is interested, they just started printing them again and have combined both their books into one. It also has some information that wasn't in either of the original prints.

i agree...i have read alot of these books and i am going to buy some on here (A. Bell) the best books i have read are 1) rehr morrison championship engine building. its very easy to read and has questions at the end of each chapter that help you remember the important stuff. 2) smokey yunicks power secrets. its a very good book with alot of good knowledge from years of experience and its easy to reaad. 3)auto math handbook. boring yes, but a very good refrence book. 4) race car vehicle dynamics. VERY hard read, but alot of good info in there.

Follow up: All very good reads; I've been though some of them a few times looking up details.
How to Rebuild Small-Block Chevy Lt1/Lt4 Engines and John Lingenfelter on Modifying SB Chevy Engines were particularly helpful.

Actualy, I just finished that one this week.
Very well written; it covers most of the basic and intermediate topics in plain english.
Lots of nice pictures of real products and real installs. (including my LE-ported Dart heads)
