detonation + gasket blow ? this is a NON specific ls engine question,
when a given headgasket (mls) is said to be good for over 30psi boostpressure, would it be possible to blow such a gasket even when boostpressure is say 20psi with detonation ?

Detonation is uncontrolled combustion. Cylinder pressure FAR exceeds that of normal combustion under high boost. That's why stuff breaks. So yes, 20 psi and detonation can blow head gaskets. Even 7 psi and detonation can.
