I've seen it done a couple different ways. First is replacing the vent w/ a rubber grommet. The gromment should provide enough "hold" on the light. Second is to actually use the vent piece w/ the vains cut out.

Re: Harlan Question I just installed one this morning. I mounted the light in the side vent on the a pillar molding.
Just take the insert out, dremel out the vanes, slip the light in and put the insert back. Its a snug fit and it looks great.

Re: Harlan Question I've had mine in the center dash vent for a while but think I will move it to the A-pillar. Is it a clean looking install if you cut out the veins in the A-pillar defrost vent?
