Pebble grain texture

Pebble grain texture Does anyone know how to do that pebble grain effect?? it kinda looks like vinyl.. but its not..
I had that texture on my center console, but theres a piece of the texture that was sanded off and i wanted to start from scratch and re-do the whole thing..
at first, i was thinking its like a paint, and u''d do some type of effect to make it that texture (kinda like marble paint)... but... i have no clue... google is no help neither.. lol...
i also thought about painting it same color as the car, with a few coats of clear... but im pretty clumsy, i know id scratch that within the first week... unless theres some type of clear coat protectant??
ehhh.... i need some advice, let me know what u guys/gals think...
