Default headrest

how do you get the headrest off of a 2000 firebird?

i'm wanting to change them, but i can't seem to figure out how they come off?

To take the whole thing off, you need to remove the seat backing. Pull the clips, etc., ...
To remove just the covering, simply undo the 'z-clasp' on the underside & unroll off the foam.

does the back of the seat just pop off?

do i need any special tools once the back is off?

i'd like to replace them with some open-style headrest and i'm just planning for what i'll need to do. they don't just slide out like i thought!

i was thinking about trying to find some gtp headrest, but i don't know if they'll fit...at least the 02 won't. my brother-in-law has one the the post holding the headrest was two inches to wide; 6 1/4 vs 8 1/4.

any idea of what other makes/models might work?

thanks.
