one thing I didn't see when reading that other thread was, whether the front fenders are replacements or just bondo'd over the originals??

I know the quarters went over the original.
They are replacements, By themselves they look stock but when I comaired them to my originals they bulged out about 1.5". It was a lot more obvious when I got the tire back on and the car on the ground that they were flaired.

CF would be sick, except it's not worth it with all the work that is involved with making them look nice.

McNord - how much do you think a body shop would charge to get these things installed? I'd love to do it myself, but I have no real experience with body work.

If the CF fit really well it'd be nice... but with all the work to 'make' them fit they'd have to be painted and would thus be pointless. Plus they are more than double the price.

I have no idea what a body shop would charge. You could try calling a few shops to get a rough idea.

It would be a good learning experience to do them yourself, but I think it may be too much to try to bite off if you haven't done any body work or fiberglass work before. I would start smaller to learn and work up to something like this.

i think carbon fiber would be alot easier than the fiberglass. slice out the stock quarter panel and rivet the carbon fiber one onto the inner door edges along with some heavy duty adhesive underneath it. probably just run a line of black screws along the top edge of the quarter panel. 9 black screws tops.

**** if you had alot of quarterpanel damage toss those hoes on there and screw em in and people think youve got a custom camaro

I think widebodys really started with european cars and older roadrace style cars. Now everyone thinks its rice because of all those kids that put those over exadurated widebody kits on their 80 hp hondas. IMHO i think the widebody is the way these cars should have been made from the factory. I love the DH cars, and I want to see mcnords car when its all done.
