Default Drag radial Question

Ok people I know this has probally been asked a thousand times but I wasn't paying attention. Now I am ready to buy rear tires for my 2000 WS6 to make it hook at the track. My plan is to keep the stock 17" WS6 wheel/tire combo up front and buy 16" knock off rims for the rear to mount a drag tire on that I can drive to the track with. Here is my question-

What are my options for rear tires and sizes that would hook good and still look good with the front wheel/tire combo. (ie I don't want the back tires to look smaller or skinnier than the front)

NITTO has them in a 245-50-16 or a fatter size of 255-50-16. if you have different rims for drag tires your best bet would be for a street legal drag tire like Hoosier or Mickey Thompson. on my hawk i 2 stick 98 camaro wheels with MT ET Drags on them just for the weekend or the track. you could also find 2 extra WS6 wheels and buy a Nitto 275-40-17 or 315-35-17.

The regular Trans Am wheel looks like the WS6 wheel (pre 2001) just in a 16" size.

Go with an 'extra set'..
I picked up a pair of extra stock formula rims.
(5 spoke twisted)
Tossed on a pair of Nitto 555R 245x50.
I only use em for the track.

Even tho I have Phantom 255x50's all around for the street, the size difference at the track doesnt make for any problems...
