make sure you use some lubricant when using clay bar. you can either use the spray that comes with it when you buy it or you can use a sprayer with dish soap and water.

also the directions are as follow.

1. wash car
2. dry car car
3. clay bar car.
4. rewash car
5. dry
6. wax car
7. detail spray on car.

search for clay bar and you should get more info on it

I will be doing it on a black car, and i can see on your sig the car is black right. Do you have to do any polishing with a buffer or anything?

The clay bar will remove any surface contaminants, dirt, etc. that is on/in the clear coat. It will also remove all prior waxes/polishes so you will want to polish, then wax after you clay bar it. You can just wax it after you clay bar it, but it will look a lot nicer if you polish then wax!

If you dont have expierence with a buffer, stay away. Another thing I can recommend for you is Meguiar's tech wax 2.0. I used this after claying my car and it left me speechless. Heres the link to the clay bar kit I used

Claying is always a good idea if it has not been done, just make sure it is well lubricated, if your not sure, put more lubrication on. as your doing it you will feel less and less resistance. fold the bar often so your not dragging contaminants around.

I would at least do a fine polish, but it can be followed directly with wax.

And you have to wax it, because clay removes most of the wax on the car

i like the meguires 3 stage system, that has the cleaner, polish, and then the wax. i find the best results with the polish is when you use a buffer. doing by hand just doesn't work as well.
i also have the meguires clay kit, i think its great.

you can cut out steps 2-4, if as you are washing a panel while the soap and water are still on the car then clay bar right then. that is the quickest way to clay bar and wash your car, but do it in panels b/c you dont want the soap and water to dry or run off the car.

thats a good idea.i never understood the washing again after claying.i know zaino says to do it that way,but i think it is a complete waste of time.and yes it is well worth it makes a difference in looks and the wax/sealant will last/protect longer.
