Who here Painted there Intake Manifold??
My ls6 intake manifold will be here on tuesday and I would like to paint it. My question is, what is the best way to go about doing this??? I have some 500+degree high temp engine paint and some "clear coat" too. Can i just start spray painting away and then add some clear coat?? easy as that??
Thanks for the help/pointers.

A few people have done it before, there was a good thread going on about it before, do a search and try to locate it, it has a lot of good info..

Thanks for the Thread, but that Thread does not offer any "pointers" as to how I should paint it. Someone asked in that thread "Do u have to sand anything or just paint" and he never got a response. It DOES show some nice pictures of ls6 painted manifolds though.
I would appreciate any kind of feebback and am doin a search right now...

I painted mine with the factory GM touch up spray paint to match the pewter. I just used simple green to clean it, dried it, then put on 5 light coats.
No concerns about temp considering the intake stays below 120 degrees and considering your exterior paint can reach higher than that in direct sunlight, Im not concerned.
