You have to reuse the black plastic ring on the leather boots that Afterthoughts Auto sells. You cannot buy that ring by itself from the dealership either, you must buy the entire pleather boot setup.

I need one of the plastic rings too. Does anyone know where we can get some of these shifter boot rings? I've already tried Billy Graham's f-body salvage and they won't sell me one....come to think of it...they have refused to sell me every part i've ever called and asked about!

I broke mine in two pieces accidently... i used some heavy duty packing tape and taped it back together... Its been fine for about 5 monthes now...much cheaper than buying the actual ring..

Yes this may seem a bit chatty but its just a plastic ring that hides under your shift boot...

the tape will work , give it a shot <img src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Hi. You can order just the retainer ring from GM Parts Direct. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com Part #: 10271371. Or check at your local dealer to avoid the shipping charge. I didn't think it was available separately either but a customer gave me this part number.

If you want a leather boot we can help you with that. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

If you want another stock boot we have a new one that we ended up with when we needed a retainer ring for making the leather boot. We'll be happy to sell the stock boot cheap. We don't have an extra retainer ring.
