Typically your hard dome, or metallic tweeters are going to sound "bright" (read: ear's bleeding on the highs). What you want to look into is a larger soft dome tweeter, preferably silk. In my opinion, it's hard to beat Rainbow. I've got the Rainbow Pro 265 2 way components, and I've had quite a few people hear then, then proceed to tell me they were selling their speakers and getting Rainbows. They have a soft dome tweeter which is very smooth, defined, and accurate. I've also had people ask me if I had an 8" sub in the car because of the great midbass of the Rainbows as well. They cost a bit, but if you were looking at MB Quarts then these are right there with them. Go to
www.ampmanaudio.com and check out a set of Rainbows that are in your price range. Best of luck in your search.
