M6 Console in an A4
M6 Console in an A4 I went through this whole section of the forum and could not find a thread about it. I am trying to put my interior together and would like to know if an M6 console would work with the A4 shifter?
If anyone has an A4 console trim in charcoal for sale, PM me. I am about to buy a M6 console but just want to make sure it would work. I am tired of my interior and would like to return it to stock.

It will work, except you will lose the ability to lock your car out in first and second gear. the opening for the shifter on 6 speed cars is farther forward than A4 cars, so you cant ratchet the shifter all the way back to "1" and "2" without hitting the plastic in the console. hope this helps!
getting the console notched to fit would be easy enough. but you'd probably have to get a custom boot made and also a custom ring to keep the boot fastened.
