i think there are silverstar bulbs that work as direct replacement. the other alternative is to modify the bulbs and put in aftermarket bulbs or real hids. your curret bulbs can be carefully pried apart and epoxy in the replacements.

The only stock size/style replacement headlight bulbs currently available for the 1998 - 2002 Firebird are basic sealed beam bulbs [regular Philips, GE, Sylvania -- although Sylvania does make a XtraVision in the stock size that is a little brighter than some others].

As for alternatives, you can get conversion housings that allow you to install newer-style bulbs (for example a H7 or H4 bulb depending on the housing). Another option is to go completely custom with projectors, like I and some others have done.

Check out the Lighting FAQ for more info.

I have the euro lights housings with Silverstar H7 bulbs. They were HUGE improvement over stock for about $120 total cost. Eventually I'd like to do a true HID projector retrofit, but this was a great low-cost improvement in the meantime.

Sorry, I don't have any pics right now. I can take some for you but I won't have pics of stock lights to compare them to.

I bought some H7-converted sealed beams from a guy on the V6 forums, I dunno where he got them. I then got the DDM Tuning 35w 5000k HID kit (lifetime warranty) for $85 shipped. Since I didn't wanna modify my stock harness, I removed the connectors from my OEM housings, bought some H7 pigtails, and made a plug-n-play conversion harness.

My green car with HIDs versus my blue car with stock sealed beams.

These work great and have no diffusion issues. One of the best mods I've done
