Default Need some info

I have posted a few times about a problem with my 99WS6 not wanting to start or dieing, I found a high voltage DTC on the MAP sensor and replaced it. But during a long drive (1000 miles) I discovered what is causing the problem I just need a little info to complete the repair. Apparently under the carpet just in front of the drivers seat is some wiring because everytime I put my foot on it, it acts like the car dies, let my foot off it and the car runs fine. This moring the car once again would not start so I tapped the spot on the carpet and the car fired right up.
so WTF is under the carpet on the drivers side?

heh my last T/A died a horrible death in an electrical fire (cell phone charger). I will pull the seat and lift the carpet this weekend and hope to find the problem, I just think its insane to run a wire under the carpet in a spot the gets the most wear, and wanted input on wth could be run there.

Perhaps that could be enough. Perhaps going direct to ground with the hot wire to the seat would be enough to fuXXor the voltage in the whole system. Who knows. It might be just enough of a voltage drop to:

a) confuzzle the heck out of the computer
b) kill your spark
c) keep your injectors from opening
d) kill your fuel pump
e) boggle the mind of any given emissions sensor
causing the computer to overcompensate...
f) Any combination of the above to any degree.

It's an odd way to discover the problem, but I don't think I'd consider it altogether hard to believe that it could cause a problem. With engine controlls no being on a completely isolated circuit the possabilities are many and varied.

PS: If you're going direct to ground with the hot wire to your seat right underneath the carpet, you should thank your lucky stars you didn't set the carpet on fire. How do you spell suck?

At last the mystery is resolved!!!! All I can say is that if I had not found the problem by accident while taking a long trip this would have gone on forever. The issue was resolved when I pulled the front seat and pulled back the carpet. There is a wiring harness that runs along the drivers door, this harness includes the power for the fuel pump and seats lights and anything past the drivers seat. Just in front of the left front seat bolt is a grounding bolt with 2 grounds attached to it or in my case NEVER tightened. Once I put a ratchet to it all my problems have been resolved. The dieing was because the fuel pump was shutting down and the problem with starting is the pump never turned on till by accident I stepped on the magic spot and the ground was completed. So anyone having the same problems I think we have a fix (several people emailed me with same problem).
