Car decisions...?

Car decisions...? Ok well I might be finally getting my new job soon... and with the new job comes something I've been plannin to get for a long time <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . About a week ago I called insurance on 3 cars that I want to buy and after seein the rates I can't choose which car I want <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> !
So here are the 3 cars in order of the insurance rates for every 6 months.
1999 Camaro SS ($488)
1998 Corvette ($472)
2000 Camaro Z28 ($424)
So now I dunno if I should go with a z28 or a vette? I can find a good low miles 2000 z28 with all options for around $18-19,000 OR a 97-98 vette for around $23-24,000 with around 40,000miles. So which would you go with , I've been thinkin and thinkin and I just love both cars... <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />

Re: Car decisions...? Thats funny.. my insurance (21st century) didnt even have a listing for a SS so my slip says Z28..
Get what you can afford and enjoy driving <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> -- if you can afford $24k for a vette then go for it.. heck, for a little more you could buy my car.. LOL..

Re: Car decisions...? Thank steve. See if I get the camaro I think there is some more stuff I can do to it. But a vette has just as much and looks just as nice. Right now I'm leaning more towards a camaro because I think I can do more apperance wise and make it really aggressive lookin... but I can almost do the same with the vette as I would like to make it look like the C5-R Vette.
Anyone else with comments besides 1 person? I think its pretty much a win-win decision here, but yet its still hard to make <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Don't get me wrong, I love Camaros but for the money, the Vette is a sweet car. If you get a Camaro, I'd suggest the SS. A Z28 vs. a Vette would be an easy decision for me.

Re: Car decisions...? Hard decision, I have a loaded 2000 Z28 with only 14k miles and picked it up for around 19k. Love the performance and I have money left for mods. It is fast and handles ok and the brakes are ok. On the other hand, I "babysat" my boss's 2000 Vette for a week and I can tell you that there is no comparison. The independent rear suspension is great and the brakes are phenomenal for factory pieces. The Vette felt alot more powerful (probably due to the gearing and lighter weight) and the interior is very comfortable. The biggest difference is the looks you get at gas stations and on the road, I hate to say it, but everybody notices Vettes, and only gearheads are gonna notice Z28's (for the most part at least). I am like you, I looked into a few Vette's before I bought my Z, but being 21 insurance was too steep and I have plenty of money left for future mods. Good luck on the decision, I don't think you can go wrong.
Re: Car decisions...? i love my Hawk but a vette is a vette! if i sell the hawk it will only be replaced with a vette. the vette will have to be rare though. any Z06, 96 Grand Sport, 95 Zr1 or 98 Pace Car

Re: Car decisions...? Well some people might think my decision is crazy... but I think I'm gonna have to go with a LS1 camaro. I think it looks more agressive and more parts 4 it. The only thing is its not as unique as a vette, but still a great car. But the decision won't ever be final till I actually have the keys in my hands <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> , I'm gonna test drive both cars before I buy so who knows maybe I will get the vette... but as for now I'm leanin toward the camaro.

Re: Car decisions...? You said the look of the vette is more noticed... but most vettes look like ,well, a vette. BTW, I am not getting down on "big brother" but just wanted to point out and show with my mods how you can create that "WTF was that!" look. I have recently added chrome oval tips and clear corner lenses to give me a little more "uniqueness". Just my 02.

Re: Car decisions...? get the SS! You'll have money left over to mod it. You can specialize it more I think. My dad has a vette and you just can't really do anything to it without taking away from it besides performance. Most spoilers look cheesy and some FX might be ok but it dont know... Get the SS!
