Default Engine Paint Questions:

1) Anybody know a color that matches the red used for the SS badges on a black SS?

2) Anything come in a can that can take the heat underhood (for valvecovers especially) in that color?

3) Can I get a good enough finish out of that can for a show vehicle?

You might want to look into the brake caliper paint called Foliatec. It is supposed ot be brushed on, but I'm sure you can use an air brush to even out teh finished surface. As far as the color goes...it's very vibrant, should be close to the color you're looking for. I got some pics of my painted calipers on my sig incase you wanna check it out. I know it can handle heat,a dn solvents w/no problems.

Even when applied with the brush it smooths out as it dries.
