Default Dumb question- can you make a convertible?

If you have either a t-top car or hardtop say a 95 firebird. Can you convert it to a convertible? Not too sure never looked in detail the mechanism and other stuff on a vert. Thanks.

You do have to keep in mind that the F-Body convertibles were actually designed to be convertibles, not a hardtop converted to a vert. This was done to maintain structural stability and rigidity that was on par with the frame stability of the hardtops.
Unlike many cars with vert versions that are simply factory chopped hardtops, ours were separately designed models.
Just keep that in mind if you do undertake this project.
I would really like to see this be done though, as these conversions are always pretty cool.

good luck. you will probably spend years trying and it probably wont look quite right when you are done. just put the money and time into a new car.
