New Car--OEM paint - First steps?
I have yet to decide what wax/polish I want to go with for the first time.
(I've been using LIQUID GLASS on the 98 since last fall)
So.. (Aside from Zaino..I cant find it anyway) what would be the best stuff for a new car?
Also...The car has been under a car cover most of the time. Its only been out to play 5-6 times.
Are there any issues with this? Should I hold off and maybe let the car play in the sun for while before attacking the paint?
first think i would do is clay it. i clayed mine at like 2K miles and it was amazing.
if you dont like zaino look into 3M stuff.
Took it home..covered since then...
Why clay a new car??? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

From what I understand rail dust are super tiny sharp metal particles, when they hit the paint the particles dig in and stay embedded.
But the car ships in a baggie!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Have you ever seen the plastic thats stuck all over a new car?
If thats the reasoning...I still dont understand.
Does claying take off layers of the clear coat?
plastic or no plastic, theres crap on it.
it takes the contaminants OUT of the clear coat <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
