Default Rear bumper support, cant get it out!!! Help

Like most of the other drag racers im trying to remove a few lbs from my car. I removed the front bumper support with no problem. Now Im getting to the rear bumper support and I cant seem to get it out of there. I removed the 6 plastic push in bolts, 8 bolts that hold the support to the frame rail, two screws in the fenderwells, the license plate screws, license plate light screws, and marker lense bulbs. I have been yanking and tugging on this thing for a half an hour and it wont budge. The bumper cover wont come off, it seems like its riveted to the 1/4 panel. I dont know what else im missing to get this thing out. I looked in my Haynes manual and I have taken out everything it list and then some. Any help is appreciated. TIA

look inside the car where the spare tire fits. there is a bolt there and on the opposite side also. i think they are 10mm. then it should come right off. you might have to take the rear panel that says camaro off also. hope that helps

Thanks Joey. A friend of mine came over and we were lookin at it and he reached up in the fenderwell and felt one of the nuts, so I took that one off and then found there were two more that had to come out from the inside of the car where the spare tire is like you said. Once I got those 3 out on each side it came right off and yanked that support out. Thanks again

Hey Dave,

Sounds like you're getting a little more serious. I need to make another trip down to SAC to get that 10 sec. pass. Well maybe it can happen up here, but it would surely runner quicker down there. I'm step ahead of ya on weight reduction...I just did a cool headlight removal mod where I made brackets to hold in my headlight covers. Looks just like it did and I lost 11 lbs off the nose. I have always used the fog lights driving around anyways, cause I couldn't see **** through the covers.

Right on Jantzer. Im looking forward to watching you make some of those 10 sec passes. I had private messaged you over on Norcal about some heads but I never got a reply. I dont know if it didnt go through or something but I am interested in a set of your heads if you are planning on selling them to the public. Its amazing what you are doing with a 346. Let me know. C ya at sac!

Also..do you have AIM or some other sort of messaging that I could maybe talk to ya about some other ways to lose weight on this thing? I could email ya if that works for ya?

Dave,

I know almost all of the ways to lose weight in these cars. Shoot me an email I'll help you out. I haven't been over on norcal-ls1.net for a while that's probably why I didn't get it. I'm definately going to start selling heads to the public if I ever get time.

Tell me about the friday/saturday racing there. Do I have to run mufflers on friday nights?? There's a good chance I'm coming down next weekend. I need to STAY ahead of Terrible Terry. He'll probably do good things tomorrow at Bfield. I'll gut the car to the truest meaning of the word and see what she'll do.
