Default I Need A New Hood. PICS...

So Ive had my car for about a year. WOW. a year...

when i bought it it had a firehawk hood on it.

I like it, and get alot of compliments, but...

Id really rather have a more agressive hood.

More cowl, but i dont want that drag style VFN.

Ive seen one WS6 style where the ~4" cowl was blended into the rest on the hood. and i like that.. but i cant find it again.

anyone know what im talking about? or know of another one i might like

Ive looked at the superhawk, raptor, WS6, WS9, mecham, VFN WS6...

Thanks guys.

Man, not sure on that one, can't go wrong with a firehawk hood. Firehawk and Superhawk are the best hoods for a T/A IMO

Yeah your hood is definately the best hood for a firebird in my opinion. The ws6 hood looks funny cause the openings in the front are split up. THey should be two big openings like the firehawk is.

Looks like a Joe Van Overbeek hood. You can search for it in the drag racing section. Here is a picture of the same hood on my buddys car then I placed it on mine to see what it looks like and filled in the big hole that was cut for his carbs in photoshop to get a better look at it.

Still trying to decide if I want to go the pin on route. Joe Van O makes a bolt on version of the hood as well. The bolt on hood also extends to the windshield but of course would need to be trimmed to be able to open the hood. The last time I spoke to him he was making 3 versions of it with the cheapest being $800. That one had the nostrils closed off and under the hood was basically empty. The most expensive was about $1100-1200 but it was fully functional like a WS6 hood.

It's definitely not the WS9 Outlaw hood. How bout this one? It looks very similar but this one has more definition on the sides. Scrolle near the bottom and it's on the Silver Formula/Firebird.

Just so you know, if you replace the firehawk hood, you'll need to do something about your front bumber because SLP trimmed the factory bumper to meet up to the firehawk hood. So if you go with something else, you'll have a gap there.
