What should I use to clean the engine compartment?
...but with all the sensors and electronics nowadays I'm a little hesitant to do that...
...I'm thinking that maybe some wheel cleaner for painted wheels and a rinse with the hose might work. Is there anything else that might work better?
thanks, Jason

Back in the day I'd pull into the car wash bay, spray the engine and compartment with a little Gunk and powerwash the **** outta everything....

Yep, I use simple green on the engine (aluminum parts).. just spray it on and let it sit a bit.. then high pressure hose it off.. I mix car wash soap with water in a spray bottle for the painted areas of the engine compartment.. I use high pressure on the frame and such and low on the areas with wires..
I then blow it dry with a 215mph leaf blower ($59)
Detail with a towel, etc..
I can see it now.... I can see some sweet little old lady that lives across the street.... Then you start up the leaf blower (gas blowers get the most attention), and start blowing down your engine.
"What in the world is that young man up to now! I swear, something is very wrong with him! Oh dear, I hope he does'nt come over to my house and do something strange!"
