remove and replace badges: adhesive strong enough?
I got into a wreck in late 1998 with my SS. the body shop replaced both SS badges on either side of the car, even though the passenger side was the only side messed up. Anyway they put the new ones back on and they're about .5" too high and about 1-1.5" too far back.
If I carefully remove them with a hairdryer and dental floss and clean the area down to the paint, will the adhesive on the badges still be strong enough to hold? If not, is there any good adhesive anyone can recommend? I really don't wanna shell out $50 for 2 new badges.

One word. NO!
The adhesive is onetime use only.
You coulf strip them clean and use an RTV type adhesive to put them back on though.
If the body shop put them in the wrong place they should be replacing them not you.
Sterling.

I'd thought about taking it back there but it's been about 3 1/2 years since the wreck and I'm not sure if they'd do it or if they're obligated to do it. Guess it's worth it to ask...

3M EMBLEM ADHESIVE. It has worked for me in the past. Just try to get the back of the emblem as clean as possible. Prep the area with alchohol, and put them on.
