cowl hood functions?

cowl hood functions? i was wondering if a cowl hood had any other function than clearance on our 4th gens? also, does anyone have a pic of VFN's 2 inch cowl hood for 98-02 model camaros (painted and mounted on the car already)
Re: cowl hood functions? I have the ASCD 2 1/2 cowl hood. It releases alot of hot air with the SLP fan Switch. On don fall though. you can put you wipers up like you used to when washing the car

Originally the cowl hood was used primarily by Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins on his Camaro...After doing some wind tunnel testing he found that the cowl had a higher pressure area than the front or middle of the hood. Everyone else was running the standard tall hood scoops in order to get a higher pressure "charge" of air into the carb while Grumpy was using his cowl hood scoop. Of course with the 4th gens this isn't an issue so it will just be a quick release for heat build-up in the engine compartment.
