Default Wire mod +

I previously did the passenger side wire mod. Now that my ~3000 mile TTP built engine did now hold up I have had to pull it for replacement. While it is out I am considering go 1 step further with the mod and completly reroute the harness where is crosses to the driver side.

The harness crosses the front of the car and is visible in front of the radiator (and along the pass. framerail). It then follows along and under the crossbrace to the passenger side where it combines with a much larger harness that goes inside the cabin under the brake booster. I am thinking that I can drill a hole large enough to reroute the large harness inside of the driver side framerail and then up into the inside of the radiator crossbrace and in front of the battery.

My questions are:
-Does anyone see a problem with drilling the frame with a 2" hole for the harness to go through
- Does anyone see a problem with having the harness inside of the framerail. I am most concerned with problems involving a collision since the frame is made to collapse or slide during impact as this will problably slice the harness.

If I can accomplish this, a major harness will be entirely hidden and allow a nicely painted framerail to be cleaned and seen instead of grungy/hard to clean harness tubing. It will also help in relocating the fuse boxes to a lower location.

Let me get this straight...Your concerned with damaging the harness...in the event of a accident...I don't think that should be the main concern if you wreck your car.

can you not tuck it in between the inner/outer fenders like on the passenger side? i've wondered this myself because i want to put my linelock solenoid and/or brake proportioning valve where the wire harness goes under the driver's side fender "hump" on top of the frame rail....

I am more concerned about a low impact collision. I so not know what it takes to cause the rails to slide potentially causing major uneccessary damage to the harness since it would be inside the rails.

Hmmm. Actually I did not look at that. I will tonight. I am wanting to put my line lock under the fuses. I have to find all the fittings first though.

Actually I am talking about both. It is the same harness.
