Default Did i just get takin on this??

Alright so i changed my exhaust tips today from the classic SLP one tip to a c6 look.

The thing is did i just get took on the price?

They were having a hell of a time on getting the old tips off and they took about an hour to get them off and then they had to move the back of the exhaust a little bit to match both sides.

The Price

17 bucks for adapters cause the slp pipe was huge compared to these

112 bucks for labor!!!

They took about 2, 2-1/2 hours!! but i understand that they ran into some problems but damn i thought it was like 50-75 to change tips!!

I know i paid but i thought they said 57 not 137!! guess i should get my hearing checked, should i go back and see how much they change for an hour of work? or just cut my losses and never go back?

Pics will be up tomorrow when i get my camera

Was the job done flat rate or pay by the hour? Sounds about right if you were paying by the hour if it took them that long

ya im pretty sure it was by the hour's!! lol, judging by the price...I even hit up a few muffler shops and they all told me it would be 80ish to 90ish, so i said screw that and took it to this auto shop that does nice work. Told me it would be pretty cheap. Guess i should have paid the flat rate.

In saying that, i think they did a great job, the wields are hidden really well just can't believe the price!

For something like that, agree up front for flat rate, but for 2.5 hours, figure they usually charge $60-$80 / hour for labor, so you made out.

I can't think of a problem they would have. Maybe they just suck. It's things like this that make me want to do everything myself.

I was screwed over on my true duals twice and couldn't do anything about it. I since bought a nice welder and have made my own a few times with great results. I did my SFC and mini tubs too. I've made money doing jobs and it feels great that nothing can hold me back now. BEST investment i've made.
