I have an '02 Z28. I just got some 18" billet specialties wheels (18x9, 18x10). I was going to run 295/35's out back, however this puts the overall diameter at ~26.3 inches (according to tirerack, I calculated 26.13"). This diameter is ~.5" or greater bigger than the stock tire size diamter. In theory I know I need to reprogram the computer, but Hypertech does not have a programmer yet and many people do not have the '01-'02 LS1 edit yet. I know this will throw off my speedo, but I was also told it will mess with the torque management program and several other computer parameters. How big of an effect will this be? If need be I will just use 275/35's all the way around because those are very close to the stock diameter. I am leaving for the Power Tour next week, so I am running out of time.

The overall diameter of the 275/35ZR18 is 25 9/16"
The overall diameter of the 295/35ZR18 is 26 1/8"
Mathmatically there is a ~ 1/2" differnce in the OD. How critical is that?? Do not know but once I installed my 295's the OD did not measure out that tall, I think there was only a 1/4" diff. I am still tring to figure out if my speedo is off. No biggie in my eyes. Especially for just a trip on th P.T. work it out later.

I have 295/35/18's on my SS on all 4 corners and it didnt mess up anything. I did notice a little loss in acceleration because of the extra weight and size but it was no biggy.
Yokohama makes a 295/30/18 which might be more to your liking but that tire would actually be a little bit smaller in diameter than stock

Hey I'm thinkin of gettin a pair of rims from the same place and I'm goin with 18's also, but I'm goin with 18x10 all around.
I have one Q for ya, how good of a build quality are your rims? I hear its good, but I'd figure I'll ask someone who actually owns them <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> .

Well, here the wheel I am running. Not on the car yet, but they are an excellent quality billet wheel. They may be expensive, but you get what you pay for. A lot of street rods and sport trucks run Billet Specialties, but not many F-body guys do (it is probably the price). I could have almost done cam, headers, and converter for the price of the wheels and tires, but heck the car would not look near as good and I can do the other stuff later. First impressions are important.
