damn i washed the car today, and i noticed i had some chips already 
It could have been when i was putting them back together or while i was driving... Looks like i need to get them touched up...

Cecilia and I did her calipers this weekend on her white 96 WS6. We went black bracekts and white calipers...it turend out real nice, MUCH better than stock!!!
The chips arent normal, you may have hit them with the wheels when putting them back on? I have chipped mine like that.
I am about to strip and polish the ones on my orange car. I have a set of brackets I am having smoothed and chromed for them as well. So polished calipers with chromed brackets and dark metaillic orange "TRANS AM" on the sides cailpers...it shouldnt look too bad!

But yes as for prep. I lwt them soak in simple green and water for about 30 mins. dried them off sprayed with brake cleaner, sanded with 400 grit, sprayed again with brak cleaner and let it sit for abotu 30 mins to dry. I did the same procedure for both brackets and calipers.
I will jsut need to touch them up that is all not a big deal
