Help deciding on 17x11 versus 18s
I want to get new tires and rims (I lucked out and my wife is giving me most of the tax return <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> ). I am trying to decide on 17x9 upfront and 17x11 on the back for that classic muscle car look. I also expect to like the additional contact for traction. However, I like the look of the 18" rims. And I figure I spend more of my time taking a corner fast than I do taking off from a dead stop. Also, I can keep the 16" for drag radials on the back if I went with the 18s and I want to drag race.
What are your experiences with the two sizes? How does the 17x11 with a 315 on the back handle in very agressive cornering? How will the 18 perform when launching from a dead stop?
Thanks for your help.
The big 315 steam rollers light up pretty easily too, and handle well.
Tough call, I think the 11" w/315 is too wide IMHO.
