Default painted caliper problem.

I recently painted my brake calipers red. They looked great for about a month now they just look like complete sh**. They are covered in brake dust. I dont understand why they dirtied up so fast. I can't seem to get the dust off either. please help.

If the dirt is stuck on the paint, you may not have had a very glossy finish. Any dust on mine just rinses off. If you can get them clean, try a clearcoat and then waxing them... and then CLEAN YOUR CAR MORE OFTEN! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

You may want to go to a carbon ceramic pad too. They make almost no brake dust and have great stopping power.

I had a problem with my daily driver and painted calipers, but I did not take very good care of them.

Clear coat and waxing would be your best protection.

BTW, what kind of paint did you use???

You got the right idea, try finding hight temp clear. You should also add CAMARO decals since you are at it, if you have'nt already. Clean the calipers very good re-paint add decals (if you chose to) let dry, then add clear. I applied about four coats. Ohh the decals should be about 4in long, might find some at your local sticker stand at the mall. Good luck..
