Painted third brake light?
Has anyone painted or no of a company that has a black out for the third brake light?.. i was thinkin to just paint mine a little to give it that black look but still be red when in use.. since there are no refletors in the lense would it be legal?? after all it's only a brake light and still visible when in use.

People have done this. There was a product called "Night Shades" by VHT it was a smoke colored clear coat. I used it on my Black 1981 Z and it looked awesome.

Cool thanx again man!
ya i would rather paint them tho.. they look more smooth with no bulging cover and its way cheaper.. and it can be removed easly if needed. Ya i had all light covers on my Old IROC.. looks killer.

Trav, these ARE NOT COVERS!!! VHT is a paint manufacturer.
It is a smoked spray paint. I did all of the side markers lights and tail lights, looked really good and maintained all of the OEM lines.
