Do what I did about a year ago. Go to the hobby store or testors.com and pick up some "transparent black window tint paint" for models cars. The testors brand link is: http://www.testors.com/Product.asp?product%5fid=2949

This paint basically lets light through when there is light behind it, but when you look right at it, it looks black. Costs about four dollars, I easily painted three sets of side markers and third brake lights with about five coats on each.

Its been about a year and havent had any problems with them fading or what not. Im going to install an SS spoiler today and pick up some more paint to paint that new light. You can see some pics of mine in my sig. Email me if you have any questions on the process.
