Default Wipers?

My friend has a 94 Camaro and is having a heck of a time with his wipers streaking, missing spots, and wearing very quickly. What do you guys do? What blades do you use? Etc.? He doesn't want to use Rain-X or anything like that.

Thanks

I use Rain-X on my windows (all around) and I use the newer-style blade wipers. The ones currently on the car are Goodyear... $10ea at BJ's Wholesale Club. I used to use silicone wiper blades. I forget the exact brand name, but they lasted the longest and worked the best.

Why doesn't he want to use RainX? It's amazing stuff. I've even put it on rentals.

Icons here too. They work really good, but I got em because when I'd run the washer fluid the old wipers would hold some water and keep splattering onto the windshield. ANYWAY the Icons plus Rain-X is THE best way to go!

clean the wiper blades with rubbing alcohol and
clean the windshield with rubbing alcohol also.

the wiper arm might also be bent a little causing the problem.
