Default Faded top bar on roof

Ok so the bar that goes across the the roof of the car is faded and looks like crap. Is there anything I can do to fix it. Ive tried polishing it but its still not how I want it.

Thanks for your help!

I have the same issue and I have polished it several times with marginal results. Is there anything that can make it look better w/o painting it?

I've been trying to find the replacement rubber/plastic grommets at the ends of this piece but can't find it anywhere. Dealership says they've been disco'd. Classic Industries doesn't list them in the catalog. Anyone else been able to find them?

If you want to buy a new one I did see one on ebay a few days back! I'd rather just repaint it but I definitely saw one!
