Silver Ta Detailing Any suggestions on what I can do, to really revitalize the paint on my 97 Comp TA. It has a couple surface scratches, one really deep strach down to the primer I think, not very long though..I was thinking about taking it in and having a body shop respray it. But they want to rape me on the price. 4k for a factory repaint. I guess they can jack prices up like that when there are only two body shops in town. F that.

Porter Cable with some Menzerna usually does a good job of bringing the paint back to life. Maybe there is someone in your area that has one? Maybe even barter with someone. They can buff your car while you do some wrenching for them?
I used the same as above and then used Tropicare TC-2 and then the XP wax. Brought back all of my metalic flake. I would contact Steve at Tropicare, you can get everything you need to make paint look like new for few hundred dollars and reuse as needed. There are directions on their website so you don't need to be pro at using the Porter Cable.

Cool guys, thanks for the reply. I have to repsprey my front bumper any ways so that will be new. Previous owner hung it up on a curb and now its starting to crack and peel were the bumper and fender meet. Fender paint looks good no spider webing or cracking. But the bumper there has already started to peel.

The thing is, both shops are your basic body shops. For that price I would rather take my car to a place were I know they are going to take the time to mark and zip lock bag every nut and bolt they take off. But yeah, I am looking for a good quality detailer. I want my paint to shine!
