Swapping Clusters
Swapping Clusters I am switching out my 94 cluster for a 98 but I have one question. The odometer on the 98 is digital and the one on mine is a ticker how do I get the odometer to work in mine. Someone said that it would work but can anyone tell me how? Thanks in advance!!!

It's my understanding that in order to do this, you would need one from a '97 car. Because those are the ones for the LT1. It's a whole different system on the '98 and up cars. If you were to get a hold of a '97 one, it's directly plug and play. You just swap them out and they work perfectly (just need to have someone reprogram the odometer to your miles to avoid any trouble in the future).

I do not think there is any easy way to do this with a '98 and up cluster, to be honest. The LS1's computer is different that an LT1's. If you look at how the gauges go in (there's just a one piece connector that you just push you cluster onto) instead of individual components for like speedo, tach, etc... and that comes from the computer of each car. I don't think it can be done but maybe someone else will chime in. There are a few threads with this topic on here.
I'd keep an eye out on eBay or in the FS section on here for a '97 cluster IMO. Much more easy and you know it works the first time.
