But this is the cheaper alternative I recommend 800 grit sand paper, 1500 grit, 2000 grit and some good glass polish. Do it over running water to clean the haze you knocked off

I can't say anything about the Meguiars, but the turtle wax one was a waste of money. After 45 min on one light there is barely a noticeable difference.

During Cleaning:

After Cleaning:

I'd recommend going about it 1 of 2 ways.

1- Buy the 3M kit and get a bottle of Meguire's Plastix. The 3M kit comes w/ standard rubbing compound instead of plastics. I like using that after you sand w/ the 3k that comes in the kit. It's a little more abrasive than Plastix and when you use it before the Plastix it makes for a better step down from the sanding.

2- Buy the Meguire's kit if you already have some medium cut rubbing compound. The Meguier's kit comes w/ a small bottle of Plastix.

Basically you'll go:
500 dry
800 dry
3000 wet
2 passes w/ rubbing compound
2 passes w/ Plastix

I've done 3 cars with this method and they turn out INCREDIBLY well!

I can't wait to try this now. Thanks for the info. Can you get the 3M and Meguiar's kit at local auto parts stores?

def do not buy the meguiars kit...its more of just a polishing kit. i used the 3M kit on mine and they were completely yellow and now they are perfect. Just take your time with each step and they will come out nice

I used the 3M kit and had excellent results. The drill attachment makes the process go very quickly. Took the headlights out, stuck them in a vice and had both done in 45 min or so.

Not the best pics, but here's before:

And after:

I have had many members inquire about me restoring their headlights so I decided to put together some pricing. If your interested PM me and I will set everything up as far as payment and shipping address.

As long as your lights have NO water in them I will refinish them for the following flat rates:

Any members on the east coast: $85.00
Any where else in the US: $90.00

The extra $5 is just to help out a little on the return shipping back to you. You pay the shipping to get the lights to me and in the amount your charged to restore the lights the return shipping back to you is included. I will properly package up the lights for a safe trip home and I ask you do the same when sending me the lights.
