Fiberglass Insulation

Fiberglass Insulation I was reading some threads about sound deadening and came across a few posts where people stated they used that R-13 Fiberglass-type insulation for the hollow space behind the sail panel. I picked a roll up that was thermal and sound protection and noticed the wrapper said it is flammable and not to be used near sparks, blah, blah, blah or other sources of heat. I was thinking about putting it near the transmission shifter but not anymore - do you think it's even safe enough to put behind the sail panel? I don't want to risk anything. Thoughts?
I'd use it, unless you have some serious problems electrically you shouldn't have any sparks in your sail panel, and as far as around the transmission tunnel, if you're talking about around the center console between the console and carpet you shouldn't have any problems. My dad owns his own professional insulation company, so I've worked with him and dealt with this stuff for many years.

Thanks, that helps calm my concerns. I am not too worried about sparks but jus' heat. What it catch on fire due to extreme heat issues? What kind of insulation are you referring to and did you use this in your vehicle or in housings?
i'm sure it would catch on fire if intact with open flames, but it shouldn't from just the heat off the tranny. I'm talking about fiberglass insulation r-13, and it's not in any of my cars, but it's def. in our house!
