protective film the protective film on my paint job is coming off, right rear next to the antena, is there anything i can do to stop this? its getting worse every time i wash my car!! help
LOL, protective film. Thats the first timeI have ever heard a clear coat called protective film. And the anwser is no, if it's peeling off during washing there is nothing you can do to stop it minus getting thats area re-done at the paint shop.
Mine is peeling on the hood, both quarters & sail panel. Once it started it spread like cancer.

Does your car still have the stock paint job on it? If so you might check with the dealer to see if they had any tech bulletins on the issue. A few years back there was an issue with the base coat on a particular brand of OE paint that was "chalking" under the clear and caused the clear to delaminate. It was mostly RED colors but the manufacture was aware of the problem and alowed certain ones to be re-painted. If yours is one of those "bad-paint" cars...your whole car will start doing that eventually.probably a long shot but couldn't hurt to at least call them.
