Want brighter headlights, need quick help
LOW BEAM
AutoOptiks #4703 Conv. Kit, Uses H-7 Bulbs
Astra H7 55W Gold-Dichroic Capsule
Astra H7 100W Gold-Dichroic Capsule
Astra H7 55W Ultrawhite Capsule
Astra H7 100W Ultrawhite Capsule
Philips H7 55W Allweather Capsule
HIGH BEAM
AutoOptiks #4701 Conv. Kit, Uses H-7 Bulbs
Astra H7 55W Gold-Dichroic Capsule
Astra H7 100W Gold-Dichroic Capsule
Astra H7 55W Ultrawhite Capsule
Astra H7 100W Ultrawhite Capsule
Philips H7 55W Allweather Capsule
Which of these will work the best (brightest) without melting any of the plastic around the headlight area? I also don't want the low beams to be so bright that people think I have my high beams on. Any help is greatly appreciated.
These are for a T/A, BTW.

I was looking at the same exact setup as you are the other day. What I am going to do is go with the H7H Astra clear (100watt) in both the high beam and low beam buckets. If you are concerned about it being too bright and getting flashed, make certain to aim your low beams correctly and you won't have a problem.
Right now I actually have high beam lamps in the low beam buckets and needed to just aim them a little bit lower. This made a nice improvement but still is not enough.
My advice is to go with the clear bulb. In my past experience, I have seen the 'coating' they put on the bulbs dry up and crack and now your left with a defective bulb that doesn't perform as originally intended. It would be a different situation if the glass was dyed, but most of the times the color you see on the bulb is only a coating on the exterior that in time will crack or fade due to heat cycling.

Re: Want brighter headlights, need quick help
i was thinking about making the High Beams and low beams to work together (with the high beams being as bright as the low beams) Could i do that without abusing the car in terms of electric problems, heat, housing problems or burnt wires?
here's a pic plz tell me if it could be done <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> ... its at the bottom of the page...
