Default aight...my caliper brackets keep rusting...

I polished the caliper brackets and painted the calipers. THey looked pretty good but after a few days they rusted. I took them back apart and polished them again and then put a clear coat on them and they are still rusting. WTF??? Anyone have any insight?

Also, I could not get a very HIGH polish on them. I think I just may have to spend some more time with them or use like a die grinder.

I think polished parts that don't have a clear coat on them usually do rust fairly easily. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

They are steel.. steel rusts.. clear enamel paints still breath and thus rust..

Either polish them and have em clear powder painted or have em chromed (or have them ceramic coated like headers are)

Good luck
