Default E-Brake Help

I Was wondering if anybody had a video or some pics of how to reassemble the handle of the E-brake? For some reason Every time I try to put it back, the damn button pops right out. Nothing I could find on tech and nothing in the haynes manual. If you guys need pictures or sorta know what i'm talking about...please let me know. I know it's not that big of a deal for any auto but I sometimes like knowing i have a working E-brake lol. I pretty much unscrewed the one screw that was holding in the handle and pulled it out like clockwork, I Can get the handle on but the button, metal piece and spring just pop right out. Anybody help me out here? I know I know, I could have just taken the console out without doing this, I don't know what was going through my head at that time.

The entire assembly comes as one piece, so unless you pull the console & see if you can fix the spring/cable, you will juts need to buy a new one from the dealer.

I pretty much have the interior gutted. I hope I can get this thing fixed other wise I guess I'm gonna be looking for another one. It just seems as if the Spring isn't catching onto something so the parking brake engages.

Take a look at the camber gear & the latch above it that holds it into place. The gear is what pulls tension on the cable to hold the parking brake shoes in place. Maybe when you push that button to release it, the gear is not moving. I think they run about $60 bucks from the dealer. I have an old one that's in good working order. If you can't get yours fix let me know.

Ok Gotcha, I appreciate the help. If I can't get it fixed I'll send ya a PM. I know it's not that big of a deal for Auto's but I just like the security of knowing I have it there just in case.
