Default Lowered Cars: Engine always dirty??

I detail my engine bay about once a month. When I opened it this month, three weeks after I lowered it, with no raining since, the engine was completely covered in dirt! I almost crapped on myself. It looked like someone had literally spread a bag of dirt across it? WTF? Did someone steal my car, go four-wheeling, wash it and forget to hose out the engine bay? Because thats what it looks like. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

My car has been lowered for about two and a half years now, and my motor has never been un-ordinarily dirty because of it. And I have been in some pretty nasty places when the wind blew through (Oklahoma tornadoes in '99).
