Default Nightshade question?

i have some tailights that have been tinted and glossed previously but i want them darker. since they have already been done do i need to sand on them or can i just clean them real well and apply nightshade? I tried a euro pair i had laying around house and i like how dark they are but u can see little swirl marks from sanding. or if i do need to sand them what is best way to not have swirl marks when you get up close. thanks

yes you still need to sand them you need something for the paint to grab onto. As for the swirl makes you must of used to course of sand paper. I would try 600 grit or red scotch brite all you need to do it dull them up before you paint. After you paint if you want to wetsand use 2000 then buff.

M3 also makes a "headlight" polisher that goes on a drill that you can get at autozone for 20 bucks and it does wonders!

3m scuff pad before painting, paint, then clear, wet sand with 2000 grit until perfectly smooth, 3m rubbing compound on a terry cloth, couple coats of wax
