you have one very nice looking formula. but it is truly screaming for change

here's my rundown to make it a bit better than it already is.

first would be springs but you already have that on the list, so....

front/side
1) clear front/rear side markers, nice and clean. dont do black they stand out TOO MUCH= bad look. they look like two randomly placed black rectangles on the side of your car.
2) chrome overlay for the front license bird. also, a very clean look. -emblempros
3) black overlay for the formula letters, be bold. let every one know what you have -emblempros

rear
4) black out the bottom half of the 3rd brake light. (only the part you see from the back of the car, and not what you see from the top)
5) paint the area of the bumper sorrounding the license plate black (mini CETA mod)
6) black pontiac fill-ins
7) a couple light shades of vht nightshade on the tail lights. for a slightly darker look, but NOT blacked out. thats too much.

higher priced mods to really pull it together
8) either a ws6 hood or firehawk hood. gives the front a very aggressive look and looks great witrh the formula style bumper.
9) dumped exhaust. tips dont look bad, but they dont really look good either. IMO
10) 6LE splitter for the front. also gives the front a very nice look.

under the hood
11) fuel rail covers- fill in the corvette lettes and customize them a bit. some paint, some decals..... makes a big difference.
12) depending on how much you care about its overall look, maybe some covers here and there.

and the MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do to your car. A MUST... to me atleast
13) something to make this car YOURS. something that you aren't going to see on any other car, even if it has everything exactly like what you have. how? i did this was with a decal at the bottom of the rear window. on my T/A i have the rolling stones tongue decal. why? because thats what i chose. and i know that no matter how many red birds their are out their with the same/similar additions to them, i know i'll have something to set me apart from the crowd. i also bought a personalized license plate, "KR1MSON"- should be ready at the DMV within the next week or so.
-people who know me and my cars know to look for the decals to really know its me if they see a car they think is mine, as if they dont stand out enough.

-sorry for the long rant, but i give a LOT of thought to appearance stuff. i bought my car at the end of august, bone stock, and since then i have done every appearance mod you can think of. its a whole new car. should be all finished this week and i'll post up some pics. cant wait!

1...2...8...9...11 are all good. I wouldnt go mixing up decal colors with black here and chrome there. The splitter looks like garbage period, as does VHT on tail-lights unless you have a black car.

Wheels make a car and everything else on the car should tie into the wheels. If you would have gotten black wheels then you could have done black corners/black overlays/etc...etc.... With polished wheels you need things on you car to compliment the shine of the wheels. Polished overlays/polished rear fill-ins/clear markers/etc..etc

just because you go subtle in certain areas doeasnt mean you have to be subtle everywhere. i guess if he had black rims and were to follow your theory, he'd have to black out everything to keep it all uniform. thats just not the way i see it. though i do respect your opinion.

the black parts that i chose on the back will give it an aggressive look, as well as the hood/splitter combo on the front. the blacked out "formula" is better for a light colored car because, i personally like to make it very clear what i have. if i had a dark car i'd go chrome (check th sig). as far as the splitter, i think it look good on cerain cars, and i think this could be one of them. and vht on black cars dosen't look good to me. i've had it on my camaro, and i much prefer some color compared to black. and i didnt say to black it out, just make it tad bit darker than stock.

but to EATSGTS- have fun with the car. do what YOU like best.

Thanks for your advice, I will definately take some of it.

I don't really care for the clear side markers, I might mix up some clear with a few drops of pewter and spray them.

The WS6 hood is in the works for sure.

I haven't had the FRC's long, I traded for them and I'm stil trying to decide what I wanna do with them.

Exhaust is also in the works.

IMO the splitter is horrible, I'm NOT trying to offend anybody with that statement, just not my cup of tea.

As far as a personal mod that would make it my own, I should be recieving my vanity plate within a few days : PWRTR1P

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll be sure to post pics when it's done.

It's a power antenna. No way to make it shorter unless you swap a non-power antenna in.

car looks very clean.
i think the drop will set the car off personally.
then i would either take the formula emblem off to have a sleeper look,
or put a black overlay ontop of the formula emblem to show off what you have(depending on your preferences)
then maybe tint the front fog lights a bit, not black out but a nice subtle look,
and some nice rolled chrome tips.

just remember that its your car and whatever you like is what matters

car looks awesome man.
keep up the good work.

I was thinkin' similar items as I was readin' the thread.
Springs, front bird & rear Pontiac stainless or chrome overlays, & remove the side emblems for an even cleaner look.

I like yer idea of the 'pewter/clear' mix on some clear side-markers.
That way they'll blend in, ..., instead of stickin' out like a sore thumb.

But don't go overboard. Cleaner's better sometimes, ...

And you can find good used power antenna's on Ebay all the time.
About $40-75 usually.

Great looking Formula! I've always really liked them in silver.

Normally I'm not into lowering, but your car really does have a 4x4 stance. As far as I know, mine is at stock height, but yours looks much higher than mine.

After that, I think it looks good just the way it is. I might lose the Formula badge on the doors (I haven't done that to mine yet, I'm afraid of finding it's been repainted), but other than that, watch out with all the badges and decals. IMO less is more sometimes, some people go overboard with those and end up with a tacky looking car.

And I agree, the splitter looks gross. And I like the sleek-beak to keep up with the sleeper image.

Get clear corner markers. The chrome wheels would look weird with them blacked out. Just doesnt go with the silver.

Dont go WS6 hood. Choose something that is different as itll make the car stand out. Trust me.

Also, forget the TA wing. Unless you are going to change bumpers and put on the side skirts, forget it.

I also kept my Formula badges. Its the only visual cue to the car that you can tell its a Formula and I enjoy seeing it there. One of those weird things and its good to get a compliment for having a Formula instead of it being called a Trans Am.
