Default Electric Rear View Mirror

I got my auto dimming, compass, temp mirror today and was wondering if any body out there installed one? If so, I'd appreciate any gouge on how you installed it. The directions that came with the mirror are very general and set up for all cars. I'm looking for something a lot more specific. I'm debating whether to take it to the local stereo install shop or not.
Thanks!
Trent

First off let me say WELCOME!!!!!! I see this is your first post.

I have one of these mirrors in my Berger Ss, although I did not install it myself, but it is very cool.

I know the temperature sensor is run down the passenger side fender with the othre big harness and clipped near the driving light.

Here is some recent ifno from the SLP board.

Electronic Mirror Intall, Q&A and Pictures

(Thanks to Greg for posting the info.)

Thanks for the "welcome aboard" and the web address. Glad to be here. I got the mirror from www.GENTEX.com The mirror costs $299; part number 50-genk30. The phone number is (574) 295-2441. Its a little pricy but its the same one that GM uses. There are some cheaper ones on the market that sell for about $249. I wanted to pay the few extra bucks and stay as close to GM as possible. I'll give a status update when I get her installed.
Thanks! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I saw several on Ebay for under $100, I bidded on one and lost, but it still only went for $81! Just run a search under GM rear view mirror or try GM onstar mirror.

I think even if you call Gentex, they would be able to provide you more detailed install info for the actual car.
