Paint / Wax help
Its been driven cross country many times and has a few rock chips and a few scratches not very deep but noticable.
It also sits out and gets dusty and rained on from time to time so its got some water spots.
So does anyone have any tips or tricks to help me make my baby look as good as she can for now till i get her painted?
Thanks!
Wash it down with dish soap.
Use bug and tar remover to clean behind wheels etc.
Touch up all chips. A match cut to a point or a tooth pick works well, be careful to get the paint only in the chips (after wou've cleaned any wax etc. out of the chip).
Clay bar using Zaino or Mothers (or your choice)
Use 3M finesse swirl mark remover on scratched areas.
Wash again
Polish
Use z5 polish or equivalent to hide remaining swirl marks.
Hope this helps!
A few items I use when drying/polishing the car are a California Water Blade, a real chamois and 100% cotton towels, good luck.

Go ahead and fix the chips and start using Zaino and see how you like it. I'll bet you end up using it after the car is painted.
www.zainobros.com
now i have to go find a bottle of navy blue metallic paint to fix all these paint chips.
anyone know where to get some? could i get this from the dealer?
Ive used zaino before and we did a wax off a while ago with zaino against mothers, meguiars and a few other brands and we all were not impressed with zaino.
I know it could have been the person waxing with zaino not knowing how to do it properly but we were out there all day and that was the car that looked the worst!
jsut my 2 cents
I just want some fix to make it look a bit better.
Although all the road rash my car has on her is all stories about where shes been!
I mean how many of you guys can say their cars have been driven coast to coast, cross country 5 times or so in over 25 states?
I have 33,000 miles on the car and they're all road trip miles!! So maybe I'hll just leave the rock chips since they add character! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
So if anyone has any tips for fixing metallic paints lemme know!
Thanks everyone!
