well for me, my front splitter was for the most part, an appearance mod, love the aggressive look it gives to the front end.
-and also: (from 6LE's site) "It produces more down force at high speeds by speeding up the air that is flowing under the car. It also protects the underside of your nicely painted bumper from scrapes, helps the car stay cooler by channeling air to the radiator and looks GREAT while doing it!" and for the sides: "It compliments the front splitters, protects the underside of your nicely painted rocker panels from scrapes (for those who occasionally take a curb too sharp or a speed bump too fast)"

i think most of the people who get front/side splitters like the way they look.

I like the front splitter, but the side ones make the car look overdone IMO

For function the do protect the rocker panels AND if you have a front fender that has broken tabs (from someone jacking in the wrong spot) that bows out this will allow you to make it flush again when you bolt them in.

For looks lots of people are on the fence BUT I still feel they are just ahead of their time. Look at the ZR1 Vette and they have the same thing.

Also, I was at SEMA this year and like side splitters or not they were on 70% of the cars I saw. GM is even releasing a new version of the new Camaro's "rocker panels" that are actually side splitters like these...

I personally like CF the best and with out the canards on side splitters look really odd as they're just out there by themselves...
