SS hood Im getting ready to order a new hood for my Pewter 99 z28. I dont like the suncoast creation SS hood... something just not quite right with it. Thunder racing carries ASCD SS hoods and i really like them. Many people say SLP has the best SS hoods but the ASCD hood look just as good. I want it to look nearly identical to a factory SS hood and be functional. The ASCD hood says it works with the factory airbox and i was wondering if anyone has some pictures of the underside of this hood. Also if anyone has had a problem with this hood. Thanks in advance for the help, as i will be ordering it sometime this week and want to make sure i make a good decision.

Re: SS hood The Suncoast hood has the Pre-LS1 SS scoop on it and after you've bought the Air box to make it functional, you end spending the Same amount as a New GM hood would cost.
ASCD claims to have used an original GM hood to make thier mold. It does look pretty close but the under side isn't quite as "polished" as a the GM Hood.

Re: SS hood We had explored the hood replacement thing as well and like the stock SS hoods look the best though there are others that are sharp in their own design also. We went to the Suncoast Creations plant and checked them out and I trust that their offerings are as good quality as the rest of the aftermarket offerings in general. I've however, got to vote for the overall quality, shape, design and fit of the genuine GM item though. We surveyed several Body Shops in our West Central Florida area and in every case we could find that had done both style installations they all sided with the GM part. There are differing features of the different hoods. Thats just what we had found.
