Default ground effects on a formula

I was thinking of putting ground effects like the ones that come on v6 firebirds on my formula, the two front pieces, the side skirts, and the rear valance piece. i really like the way they look what do you guys think? Does anyone know where i could find some new/used pieces. I searched but the onlything i can find is the aftermarket ricer ones.

You're probably best off leaving it as is. The V6 gfx are decent looking but they look best with a Trans am rear hatch. The V6 W68 gfx are expensive & the front pieces are hard to find used. If you really want a different look than what the stock Formula has then you should consider adding a TA rear bumper & side skirts but keep the Formula front bumper.

yeah that w68 package is rediculously expensive. definitely not worth it new, though i dont know about used prices or how often they come up. i agree with Formula, if you want a different bumper, the T/A bumper's probably the best way to go.

Maybe consider switching to Trans Am side skirts and rear bumper, and put a Wings West front piece on your Formula bumper. You don't see that combo every day.

I think the W68 gfx would look good on a formula but good luck finding it.

the w68 gfx are nice, but like everybody said, almost impossible to find.

i have the w68 package on my bird but i'm missing the front parts. i've been looking forever for them!! i did find them a while ago but they were $200 each!! i'm probably going to end up with a WW front lip. I'm looking for a used one. I can't justify spending the $400 shipped to get it and then have to pay to paint it.

The W68 kit is definitely badass! I have it on my car and I wouldn't have gotten it without it so I am a bit biased :p

It definitely is real expensive. I went to a body shop once to get a quote on something minor and out of curiosity I asked how much it would be for a whole W68 kit and he said something like $5,000-$6,000!

Good luck finding it used.

W68 is the best, it would set any Formula apart.

W68 kit looks cheap and ugly IMO. The pieces don't flow well, especially the side skirts, with the rest of the body. The TA side skirts are probably easier to come by and would look 10x better.

If that's what you like, it sounds like a nice project. If there was one thing I could delete and it not look bad I would take off the T/A gfx. Then the front and rear T/A covers look odd sticking down lower than the rest of the car.
I love the look of the Formula front/rear covers, but like the T/A's running lights. Sounds like I just need to get a SS or Z-28!

IMO leave your formy stock over any TA body parts. You want to look like EVERY other Trans Am? Then whyd you buy a Formula? Trade me my Trans Am for your Formula. BUT ill say, W68 over stock Formula any day. They are NICE! But you cant find them used. I think you should just get some nice rims, and lower it. I wouldn't even think about getting a TA hatch.

The only problem with the Formula body style is that instead of looking like every other Trans am on the road, the Formula looks like every other Firebird on the road. The Formula package is great for racing or trying to build a sleeper because it doesn't have all the styling bling of the Trans Am. But when it comes to wanting a good looking street car, the Trans Am wins hands down. Formula's can look really nice, but they don't stand apart at all like the TA WS6's due to having the appearance of a V6.

Different strokes for different folks. I could never decide which looked better. But i think thats why GM built both. If you think the Trans Am is better looking, then buy a Trans Am. Why take a rare car and make it like most others when you could easily just buy what you want? It not like he was forced to own a Formula lol. If you like the Trans Am so much better then buy the Trans Am in the first place. Hell, it seems like any more Formulas are more expensive than Trans Ams anyway. lol...

Good luck.

I personally like the W68 package on a Formula/Firebird. TAs look badass, but something about the curves of a Formula catches my eye. As far as mixing and matching TA/Formula parts... one style tends to flare out while the other tends to curve in. Not exactly smooth flowing, IMO. But it'll certainly stand out from the others out on the road.

Looks so much cleaner without it, IMO. You couldn't pay me to run GFX on my Formy. If I wanted that I would have gotten a T/A.
