How to remove hard anodized color

How to remove hard anodized color I have the Turn One PS pulley that has a hard anodized bronze on it. I want to remove some of it for polishing.
Any ideas on how to do this? I tried 200 grit sand paper and it is not coming off much at all.

the probablem with that is when they anadize somthing they chemically etch it first and when the color takes it is imbedded into the pores that chemical etching causes.... realy the only way to do it is chemically etch it again but theres no telling how deep it is... id ebay it and find one the color you want

This is what I was TOLD by my paintballing shop.
They use an eletrical charge to "soak" the paint into the metal pores. If thats the case, your gonna need a sanding wheel. I have even tried torching my paintball gun and I get nothing but black residue all over my gun which is wiped away with a cloth on the first pass and the anodized metal is left looking brand new. It's really on there.

this is the only way i could make anodizing work for my stuff (rc car junk mostly)
the annadizing process (by cuda)
first take the part you want to annodize and dip in salpheric acid. this etches the metal and puts a bunch of little pits in it.
next take a container and fill it with mixed rit die.
place a chunk of conductive metal on the bottem of glass and attach it to - termanal on a power sorce.
attach the part to the + termanal dip part into rit die bath. try not to let the part touch the - plate directly.
reminder is was used on a very small scale (used a masion jar as a container)
this was the way i annodized all my stuff. it worked pritty well.

The hard annodizing on the Turn One pulley is of a cheaper variety so its not as hard.. both of my polishing shops were about to polish through the coating on the face of the pulley.. then again they have professional equipment
